Add the wet ingredients into the dry and stir everything together using a spatula. Turn the dough onto a floured board and knead. The dough will be sticky so add more flour as needed. Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise for about 2 hours.
For this shaping I rolled the dough to a 12 by 12 inch rectangle and created slits about 1/4 of the way down from the top end. My filling is a simple berry jam. You can use preserves, fruit fillings or even Nutella
Spread the filling along the bottom and roll up until the cut area and then flip the slits over the bread and seal well.
Let sit for 30 more minutes.
Brush the top with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar, then bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.
